Which areas do you cover?
I mainly cover Sussex, Kent and the South of England, however, I love traveling to new places and venues, so will consider any destination, home or abroad.
How would you describe how you work on the day?
I try to document your wedding as it flows, naturally and unobtrusively. I will step in and direct you when i feel it is necessary or requested. Most coverage is in a reportage style apart from the group photos. Also during your couple photos there will normally be more communication between us. I prefer to limit the number of group photos to a reasonable number but this is something we will discuss before the day and i am of course guided by you.
Will we get to meet you before the wedding day?
I like to arrange to meet locally but equally happy to chat over zoom to discuss your wedding day. We then arrange to meet at your chosen venue.
I’m always on hand to discuss the day with you, so always feel free to ask me questions along the way. Subject to my availability, I’m also happy to meet up more than once, if required.
Do you have a second photographer?
I prefer to work alone as I believe your wedding day should be intimate. I find it less distracting as you only have to focus on one person. If you have two photographers it can be confusing to know where to look etc. It’s easier to get to know one photographer, to feel more comfortable and create a good chemistry. One photographer also means a consistent style.
Will you photograph every person at our wedding?
If you are a small group 25-30 then it is more likely that most guests will be photographed. At any wedding though, my priority is the couple and close family. Hopefully. you book me as i offer a style of photography you like; please understand that my priority is to obtain these images for you and not to pass time snapping a photo of everyone there Having said that i will capture spontaneous photos of guests.
Do you offer an engagement shoot?
Yes and the beauty of this shoot, is that you will have some beautiful, less formal photographs before your wedding day. You can also use these images to make wedding invitations and probably the best thing about the session is that It's a great opportunity for us to get to know each other a little better and for you to feel confident with me and the camera leading up to the photography on the wedding day.
The engagement shoot will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and i will upload all images to your own personalised USB. All images will appear on your own engagement client gallery and there is also the option to purchase a Q Book, which costs from £195.00 dependent on number of pages and type of cover you choose.
Do you photograph in colour or in black and white?
Both! It depends on the particular image. Black and white can be really powerful but I love to use colour in my images too, particularly for weddings. If you have a preference for one or the other, this is something that we can talk about before the wedding.
Do you edit all the images?
Every photograph will have been carefully edited individually. I explain to people that the reason why my post editing might take slightly longer is that i ensure each image receives the love and attention it deserves.
How do we book you?
If you would like to talk through your wedding photography ideas just contact me at any time and I will check my availability. We can arrange a time to meet up for coffee to discuss your requirements. To secure a booking I require a non-refundable booking fee of £300, which can be paid by bank transfer. I'm afraid that I can not hold dates without this fee. The remainder of the balance is due 21 days before the wedding date.
How long will it take for us to receive our photographs?
For weddings I allow 6 to 8 weeks in non peak times and slightly longer, up to 12 weeks in peak season. I may well complete everything before and will of course make the images available to you as soon as they are ready but i don’t ever want to rush to deliver. The images are for life, so I think they are worth waiting for. For an engagement shoot, couples family shoots, I will endeavor to complete editing and have the images to you within 3 to 4 weeks but this depends on other commitments at the time.
Do you have back up equipment?
Definitely! I carry more than enough equipment to cover almost any eventuality. My cameras also feature dual memory cards, so every image is backed up throughout the day.
How many images will we receive?
Every wedding is different and the number of images varies wedding by wedding and obviously changes dependent on whether I'm required for a full day or for a half day. However, I would suggest a number between 200 - 300 (half day) and 400 - 500 (full day) fully edited images, which `i select to best represent your wedding story. Whilst I maintain the copyright of the images, I provide you with non copyright images on a USB, which you can use for any personal use, print and share with friends and family on social media or otherwise. I will use selected image for my own portfolio, social media use. All images are in high-resolution JPEG files, ideal for large prints and enlargements.
Do you give the RAW files?
I do not give the RAW files, and this is standard policy among professional photographers. You receive high-resolution JPEG files that are perfect for large prints and enlargements if needed.
What if you haven't photographed a wedding at our venue before?
I would usually recommend that we meet at the venue to look at the location together so we can get some ideas for photo opportunities and I can get a sense of the location, available light, which may be available on the day and share ideas about photo opportunities. Hopefully I would also have the opportunity to meet the event organiser to discuss the order of service and any restrictions that I may need to consider.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have full liability Insurance.
Did you take all the images on your website?
Yes, all images by me.
